Privacy Policy

Bible KJV (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

a) Reading Data (Local Storage & Backup)

The App stores reading progress, bookmarks, favorites, and user preferences locally on your device.

If you choose to enable backup, this data is saved to your personal Google Drive account using the Google Drive AppData folder (drive.appdata scope).

The App:

  • Only accesses its own AppData folder.
  • Cannot view or access other files in your Google Drive.
  • Does not modify any unrelated files.

Backup data remains under your control within your Google account.

b) Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use Google Firebase to improve the app’s stability and user experience.

  • Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics): Collects anonymous data about how you interact with the app (e.g., screens visited, features used). This helps us understand usage trends and improve the app.
  • Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics): Automatically collects anonymous reports when the app crashes. This includes stack traces and device state information to help us fix bugs.

Control: You can enable or disable these features at any time in the App Settings > About.

c) Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Ads allow us to offer the app for free.

AdMob may automatically collect certain information to serve ads, including:

  • Advertising ID (e.g., GAID)
  • Device information
  • IP address
  • Usage data

This information is used to provide Personalized or Non-Personalized advertisements in accordance with Google’s policies and your consent choices (managed via the User Messaging Platform).

d) In-App Purchases

The App uses Google Play Billing to process in-app purchases (e.g., “Remove Ads”). We do not collect or store payment information. All transactions are securely handled by Google Play.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used to:

  • Save your reading progress and preferences.
  • Enable backup and restore functionality.
  • Display advertisements (to support the free version).
  • Process in-app purchases.
  • Analyze usage trends to improve app features.
  • Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes to maintain app stability.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Information may be processed by third-party service providers:

  • Google AdMob: For advertising services.
  • Google Firebase: For analytics and crash reporting.
  • Google Drive: For user-initiated backup (data remains in your account).
  • Google Play Billing: For purchase processing.

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy.

4. Your Choices & Controls

We believe you should control your data. The App provides the following controls:

  • Usage Analytics: Toggle On/Off in Settings > About.
  • Crash Reports: Toggle On/Off in Settings > About.
  • Advertising Privacy:
    • GDPR/UK Users: Use the “Privacy Options” menu in Settings to manage consent for ad personalization.
    • All Users: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads via your device’s system settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
  • Google Drive Access: You can revoke the App’s access to your Drive at any time via your Google Account permissions.
  • Local Data: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect user data.

  • Local data is stored in the app’s private sandbox.
  • Backup data is stored securely within your Google Drive AppData folder and is not publicly accessible.
  • Analytics and Crash data are transmitted securely (HTTPS) and are anonymized.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy.
